About our GP Registrar Program

Grand Pacific Health Centre - Nowra is an accredited GP Registrar training practice for the Coast City Country Regional GP training Program. The practice welcomed its first registrar, Dr Zoe Boyatzis in August 2015 for 6 months. GP Registrars are fully qualified GPs who are completing their post graduate training in general practice.

GP Registers are supervised by the lead GP Trainer in the practice, currently Dr Richard Griffiths who is also a Medical Educator and RACGP Examiner, although all doctors take part in teaching.

At times patients may be asked if the Registrar can video the consultation for training purposes. All consultations are strictly confidential and are used for training purposes only. If patients do not wish for their consultations to be videoed during these sessions that is perfectly reasonable as the videos will not take place without the patient’s consent.

The teaching vision is to develop the practice into a beacon of medical education, attracting GPs and medical students to the local area and make these future GPs want to stay in the area, serving the people of the Shoalhaven.
