100 pedometers will be available for loan in Nowra from this Friday.
Grand Pacific Health Exercise Physiologist and Dietitian Team leader Alycia Hull says the loan kit contains everything people need to walk their way to better health:
“The kit contains an easy to use pedometer, tips for good health and local walking maps.”
“It would be great to see local businesses take up the pedometer challenge, take advantage of the loan scheme and encourage employees to count their steps for a week.”
Health Professionals recommend that we walk 10,000 steps a day to assist in improving sleep, reduce stress, achieve a healthy weight and reduce the risk of chronic disease.
“Unfortunately many people aren’t achieving the 10,000 step target and are not aware of it,” said Alycia.
“Loaning out a pedometer can help create awareness and make reaching a target fun,” added Alycia.
Local Businesses who would like more information on running a pedometer challenge in their workplace are invited to call Grand Pacific Health Centre Nowra’s allied health team on 444 82206.
